Tilly – separation anxiety

Now we got Tilly almost four weeks ago. She is such a lovely dog! She loves everyone, she has worked out her place in the ‘pack’ and the times that Tyson clashes with her is getting dramatically less! And I have caught them snuggling up together which is amazing. To know that we have given Tyson a friend for life, to keep him company when we are out is amazing! Miss A also loves Tilly very much. She is having so much fun with her and Tilly loves playing with her. It is Tilly that goes in Miss A’s bedroom to say hello in the morning (with me there of course!)

We have no regrets in getting Tilly but there is one problem. A problem that Tyson had but was solved with the radio and a kong, I think. Tilly whines when we go out. This results in Tyson barking as well. So it is a little bit of a nightmare! I have had some fantastic advice so far but I thought I would blog about it and try and get some more advice, to find out whether any of you have some solutions.

We have bought her a crate and she goes in it through choice but I haven’t closed the door yet as she whines when I do, she needs a bit more time to get used to the crate.

I have tried pretending to go out and as soon as the door is closed, she starts whining. Little devil! I suppose I should be a little bit happy as she has accepted us as part of her pack and she has settled down enough to love us but we need to go out and we don’t want to upset the neighbours. If it was just Tilly whining, which isn’t good for her, then it would be ok as she is quite quiet when she whines but it is Tyson barking! He is loud!

So any tips and advice would be great! Anything that we can buy like toys etc that have worked for you to keep her occupied?

Sorry to hear of your problems with Tilly. I have two cats and a horse, oh yes and four hens, but fortunately I haven’t experienced separation problems with them! Would love a dog though.
I have the feeling that you are a relatively new blogger, so won’t have 300 followers yet. I hope that is the case, because I have nominated you for the Liebster Award. You can read all about it on my last post at http://www.countryidyll.co.uk I do so hope that you can get involved.

I have been blogging for a year and a half. Not too sure whether that is new or not. Most of my followers are on Twitter. Thanks for the nomination!
