At the weekend, we made our way to Blackpool to watch Dora the Explorer Live! We were given three tickets to see the show and three tickets to Nick Jr Land. We were supposed to be given tickets to the rest of Blackpool Pleasure Beach but that didn’t happen as it wasn’t on the form that the PR person filled in, nor was the tickets to see Dora, apparently. Anyway that is another blog post and nothing to do with the show, I don’t think. This issue was caused by Blackpool Pleasure Beach itself and I will be blogging about this in another blog post. To the PR of Blackpool Pleasure Beach..don’t worry my review won’t be all bad.
The Globe Theatre was the place where the show was held, which is part of Blackpool Pleasure Beach. We got there just as soon as it started but luckily we didn’t miss much of it.
The show was absolutely fantastic. Miss A doesn’t watch much of Dora the Explorer as we don’t have Sky (unfortunately, I wish we did!) But this show has made Miss A into a Dora fan. I am going to have to buy some DVD’s aren’t I?
From the press release:
Everyone’s favourite explorer is embarking on a LIVE musical adventure in London’s West End! In Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer LIVE! Search for the City of Lost Toys, Dora has lost her teddy bear Osito, and the search is on to retrieve him!
With the help of the audience, Map, Backpack, Boots, Diego and their courageous friends, Dora uses her map-reading, counting, musical and language skills to successfully pass through the number pyramid and the mixed-up jungle to reach the City of Lost Toys. But watch out – you never know what that sneaky fox Swiper might be up to along the way!
I would recommend the show to anyone that has a little one. We were given stars to hold and Dora got everyone to hold their stars a few times throughout the show and there were a few other times where the audience got involved. There is also a special thing at the end, or at least there was when we saw the show. I won’t give it away but it made Miss A’s day! All the children there were having fun and the cast got a huge round of applause at the end. That just proves how good the show was!
I wasn’t allowed to take any photos during the show. So here are a few photos that I was given from the PR company:
