Repeat of last year? Doubt it but still…

Well last year I wish I will never have to experience anything like it. I had four cancer scares last year and Russell had one. Nothing proved to be cancer but it was scary stuff!

Well at the moment, all three of us, me, Russell and Miss A are waiting for hospital appointments. Mine is a routine check up after my operation to remove a benign tumour in my parotid gland. However I seem to have developed something called First Bite Syndrome which is ‘excruciating pain in the parotid region after the first few bites of food, can be seen after surgery of the parapharyngeal space.’ It hurts but is nothing to worry about.

Miss A developed a lump just above her belly button when she was about a month old. She has had it checked numerous times and first it was a hernia and should go in time, then it was a fatty lump. It has got bigger recently so I went back to get it checked. She is now being referred for an ultrasound.

Not going to go into too many details about Russell as it is his issue but it is a recurrent problem that is a little worrying but he had checks last year so I am not so worried as I was the last time it happened.

I am not all that worried about Miss A as it has only grown slightly, but I would like to know what it is. It does look like a hernia and the doctor thinks it is a hernia. The question is, does she need an operation? We shall see.

So in the meantime, it’s just a case of waiting for appointments.

Oh sweetie I can only imagine how worrying that all is. But I’m sure you’ll be fine.
What’s frustrating is how long you’re made to wait for appointments, giving you time to fret over it.
Sending you lots of positive thoughts and hugs xxx

Thanks xx I am reasonably calm about it. But I do wish to know where we stand with Russell and Amelie. Not bothered about mine as it isn’t serious. Just an inconvenience!
