Well that was a busy few months!

Visiting family, potty training – which is still in progress, poorly Miss A, broken me – sciatica and SPD and lack of sleep due to Miss A being poorly and a Tilly-dog waking me up at 4am and various other things have stopped me blogging and even being able to function. It hasn’t been all bad. I have had the chance to attend one blogging event and one blogging conference. Both I will be blogging about shortly.

Pregnancy is going well. I haven’t even had chance to update my pregnancy diary but to be honest nothing has changed apart from the development of sciatica and SPD. Miss A is doing well at preschool. Keeps on picking up bugs but that is normal. She is doing well in her potty training, she is taking her time over it and she does have accidents and when wearing pullups she doesn’t  care about weeing in them but she only wears them overnight and when we are out. I have bought a travel potty which is fantastic!

We are currently, or should I say my lovely fiance is, doing the front garden. We have bought and put down the top soil and we have ordered some turf. The back garden will not be ready for Miss A to play out in for a few years but we want her to have somewhere to play. So hopefully in a few weeks time she will have somewhere to play out in. This makes me very happy. One day the back garden will be done but we need to dig up a driveway and sort the drainage out of the clay soil!

Life is quite good right now, I can’t complain too much, I hope to now have more time to blog. I have missed it!

Miss A is getting really good at talking. After a bit of a slow start, you can have a proper conversation with her now. However there are two words in particular that you cannot stop her from saying wrong.

One of those words is Lego. She is convinced that it is called Mego! No matter how many times you tell her it is Lego, she doesn’t listen. The other word is piano. She calls a piano a piapo. Now she gets really upset if you tell her it is piano. So funny! She really really doesn’t want to accept that she is saying these two words wrong. I think that when she does say these words properly, I will get quite upset. It is another sign that she is getting older.

She says other words properly, as best as she can do anyway! She amazes me sometimes especially when she describes things that I never thought she would know about. Her memory for the stories I read her is amazing! She can finish so many sentences of The Selfish Crocodile and she can remember most of the food items in The Hungry Caterpillar.

Her humour is fantastic! When I am on the phone to my Mum, she tries to make us both laugh. It is so funny and both me and my Mum are in fits of laughter quite often! I think she is going to do well in pre-school. Wonder if they can teach her to say piano and Lego properly? She starts pre-school on the 30th April..not long now! I am happy that she is starting soon but sad as I will miss her!

wireless keyboard, mouse, googling, google, child using computer computers and children, use of a computer

Miss A has a new hobby. Every morning she wants to sit at the computer in our bedroom and play with the mouse and keyboard, particularly the mouse. She loves it if we turn the computer on so she can make beeping noises and cause her Mummy and Daddy some concern as to whether she will delete something!

Then one day she said to us “Just Googling!”. Someone has been listening to her Daddy! It did make us laugh and that phrase has been said by her a few times now! Of course she is way too young to know what Google and Googling is let alone be able to use the computer to use Google!

We have a wireless keyboard and she has claimed that and she now has a mouse that she pretends is plugged in and she carries them about with her and loves clicking the mouse and ‘typing’! Her Daddy is a web programmer and I can imagine her being very keen to learn what he does. I am not very technically minded but knowing her she will be a blogging web programmer in a few years time!

I do think it is time that she gets a computer of her own, perhaps a tablet so she can use the apps to learn things. She learns a lot from the television and books but I think that if something is interactive like a tablet, she will learn a lot more.

Today Miss A went to the dentist for the first time! The dentist that we go to do not like to see them before they are three so it was time for Miss A to experience one of the things I used to have a phobia about. I had to have a lot of dental work after my bicycle accident and it affected me a lot. However after going to the dentist today (after a change of dentist) I seem a lot calmer about the whole issue. I have to have part of a tooth pulled out (after a crown failed) and a filling. I also have to have a cosmetic touch up to one of the teeth they filled which broke in the accident. I had two crowns and a few teeth ‘built up’.

Miss A did rather well, he got to briefly look at her teeth but she was very reluctant and was squirming in the chair. I don’t think she really knew what to expect even though she has seen me go to the dentist three times now. The dentist told her to let me clean her teeth, which is often a bit of a struggle and he told me from what he can see her teeth seem to be rather good! Miss A goes back to the dentist in three months time and I have to go back in a couple of weeks.

Miss A got a Eeyore sticker for being a good girl. I got a bitten finger when trying to keep her mouth open. She didn’t do it on purpose, she was just so scared of what he was doing with the metal mirror! I think she done brilliantly, I thought she was just going to clamp her jaw shut and we were not going to get anywhere with her. Her daddy bought her a Orchard Toys The Game of Ladybirds which I will use as a reward for being such a good girl on her first trip to the dentist!

Life has been put on hold for a few months due to various reasons. There are two main reasons, my troublesome pregnancy and the dog’s separation anxiety. More about Tilly’s separation anxiety can be found at Tilly – separation anxiety. I had some excellent advice on Twitter and message boards.

I have come to a decision that my pregnancy is either going to result in a healthy baby or not regardless of whether I do x y or z so that is not an issue for me any more and in terms of the dogs…well I have informed the neighbours about the situation and have told them that I can’t stay in and they agree. So that is sorted. We went out for the first time as a family at the weekend and it was amazing! I think I care too much about what the neighbours think so have been reluctant to go out at the weekends with my fiance and our daughter. We usually take it in turns to take Miss A out but that was not good for us as a family. I think the dogs are getting better, it helps with a run on the field instead of a walk. Must tire them out a bit!

We have a busy few months, we are going to see some shows, going to see family and also I have lots of exciting plans for Miss A when she isn’t at pre-school. Yes she starts pre-school after the Easter holidays! Scary!

I have a few blogging events to attend as well. Looking forward to these but I need to get some maternity clothes for them as the clothes I have are starting to get tight!

I have lots to catch up on as well. I have a few blog posts half finished and I am in the middle of a massive spring clean. I so need more storage!

So life is rather good at the moment!

So today I have been for my dating scan. I was dreading this scan as I have been bleeding on and off for just over a week. It wasn’t the bleeding that I experienced when I had my miscarriage but still concerned me.

However I didn’t need to worry. There is one baby there, heart beating and wriggling! Thank goodness for that! The baby wasn’t playing ball and I didn’t get a good ultrasound picture but at least I got one! The baby is measuring 14 weeks so I have a new due date of the 11th September 2013!

I then went to see the midwife and got told that all is well with my blood and urine sample. I also had a carbon monoxide test and that came back negligible. I have to go for a glucose test. Last time, while pregnant with Miss A, I almost passed out. We shall see what happens this time.

I feel as if I can now relax and not worry. It is a wonderful feeling.

So here is the ultrasound picture, it isn;t a good one as I didn’t have a full enough bladder but I can’t seem to hold my fluid very long and did have to go to the toilet before I should! If you can’t work out what is what, the head is on the right and it is stretched out. It helps if you look at it sideways! It is looking down. It would not move around!

Well Miss A seems to be OK with the fact that there is a baby in Mummy’s tummy and hopefully soon (or not so soon, I am going to be 13 weeks tomorrow) she will have a baby brother or sister. She is such a loving girl and always makes me proud. There isn’t a day goes by that I appreciate her.

Miss A often tells me that there is a baby in my tummy. She says to me “There is a baby in your tummy Mummy” randomly. She mentions the ultrasound machine and that it was on my tummy.

I hope that Miss A doesn’t get jealous of the time that I have to spend with the baby, I will obviously try and include her as much as I can. I am sure she would want to get involved!

I don’t have any worries about their relationship as I will try and make sure that they get enough attention. The one thing that worries me at the moment is that I think I will have to give birth alone as where we live I have no one here that I would fully trust to look after Miss A or know of anyone that would want to look after her, especially if I go into labour in the middle of the night.

I am not frightened to give birth alone as I won’t be alone as the midwife will be there but I feel as if it isn’t fair on my fiance for not being there, when I told him it is looking like I will have to give birth without him there, he wasn’t happy at all. He wants to be there..but what with family being so far away, there is no chance of us being able to have someone to look after Miss A. This makes me sad as he was absolutely fantastic when I was giving birth to Miss A. I don’t want to take this experience away from him but I don’t know what else can be done.

Anyway. As long as Miss A is happy and the baby is born healthy I am sure we can get through anything. I am having some bleeding at the moment, spotting and discharge so let’s just hope that that is just something I am prone to as I had it when pregnant with Miss A. Scan is on Wednesday so we shall find out how the little one is then!

Now we have two dogs, we have the problem with Tyson, our seven year old border collie cross dalmatian and Tilly, our jack russell terrier establishing who is alpha dog. Me and my fiance cannot work out who the alpha dog is. They are giving mixed messages.

Both of them seem to get on with each other but they do have a few issues with one another. This normally occurs when we play ball with them. Something that needs to be stopped in the house as they tend to snap at each other and for the safety of Miss A, who may one day get in the way as she LOVES playing ball with Tilly. It seems that Tyson hates not getting the ball and hates Tilly getting it sometimes. Not always but if they both get to the ball together then Tyson, yes our soppy dog mouths Tilly and pins her to the floor so that he gets to the ball. Noone is hurt during this little tiff. Tilly does fight back a little but it is over within seconds.

This causes Tilly to be scared of Tyson, however after their play she does growl at him. I think she is warning him to not come near her. He doesn’t like this and usually backs away. The same happens when we have a snack. All dogs are out of the room when we eat dinner so I think we need to stop having snacks when they are in the same room. I think Tilly is warning him not to grab the leftover food (not that there is any) as it is all hers.

So I really don’t know who the alpha dog is and it is rather important that we know this as we need to make sure that the ranking isn’t hindered by us. I have read elsewhere that you need to, for example, put the lead on the alpha dog first and feed the alpha dog first for all to be well.

So I am asking you, who do you think the alpha dog is?

Tyson is seven and Tilly is two. Tilly has been with us for three weeks now.

At the end of the day both dogs get on so well with Miss A and that is the most important thing. You should see Tilly and the way she looks and interacts with Miss A. She loves her. She loves Miss A coming into our bedroom in the morning. Her tail wags like mad!

Well I am 7 weeks pregnant (although this could all change when I have a scan as I don’t think the first day of the miscarriage is accurate) and I feel rather good but rather exhausted. I feel like I am getting a cold but I have felt like this for a week and no cold has developed.

Tilly is settling in really well, she has been here two weeks now and she is absolutely adorable. She is so loving towards everybody. She still loves Miss A and she watches her all of the time and they way they play ball together is lovely! Noisy but lovely. Miss A gets so excited when she plays with her and so does Tilly.

I have decided not to do the Project 365 and instead do a Project 52 (a photo a week) as due to the fact that I am pregnant, I can’t commit to taking a photo every day. At the moment I am too tired to. There has been a few days that I have forgot.

I have my first midwife appointment on the 23rd, I am certainly doing better than I did last month. I am still not getting too excited yet, not until I have my first scan.

I will hopefully get used to this tiredness soon but in the meantime I am taking it easy, especially with this snow and ice about.

As you know from a previous post, we have a new addition to the family. Tilly the Jack Russell! Tilly is two years old and I don’t think she is the stereotypical Jack Russell. She is so loving and calm and she is really good with our dog Tyson and more importantly Miss A. My statement on Twitter says it all…

“Tilly has settled in well! I hope she never changes! I am so pleased to have another dog!”

My fiancé was literally jumping for joy when we were told that we can have her.

I am enjoying getting to know her and so is the others. As I type this, my fiance is on his way home and will be meeting her soon. Here are a couple more pictures of her:
